Most moped enthusiasts who own a Piaggio moped swear by the variomatic transmission. And indeed, the purely mechanical transmission offers many advantages. Do you also use a variator on your Ciao or Si moped? Then you can't do without maintenance and occasional repairs. Do you consider it a point of honour to carry out such work yourself? Then you'll find all the accessories you need to repair and tune the variator on your Piaggio moped here. You can choose from pulleys, revision sets for the torque converter, variator weights and many other accessories. As always, you can rely on top quality from renowned manufacturers such as Stage6, Malossi, Olympia, swiing, Polini or Pinasco at a fair price. You can also look forward to rare Piaggio NOS parts from our range.
Compared to mopeds equipped with a mono gearbox, the variator on a Piaggio Ciao or Piaggio Si moped offers significantly more comfort. While the gear ratio is always the same on most mopeds and the speed of the vehicle is controlled by increasing or reducing the engine speed, the gear ratio changes on vehicles with a variomatic transmission. The automatic lengthening or shortening of the transmission ratio takes place by utilising centrifugal force and changing the gap width of the belt pulley. Conversion to variomatic operation is possible without any problems and requires much less work than many moped enthusiasts think.
With a variomatic transmission, the quality of the individual components is of crucial importance. That's why it's always worth opting for products from genuine quality manufacturers. In our range, you will therefore find variator weights from renowned brands such as Polini, Stage6 or Malossi. With these precise weights, you can ideally tune the variator on your Piaggio moped. If you are planning to convert your mono gearbox, you will also find complete variomats in our range. To make the conversion a success, you should also order special tools such as a clutch spring compressor. We recommend using Malossi grease for moped variators to apply the lubricating film between the hub and half-belt pulley bush. With reliable lubrication, it is possible to extend the maintenance intervals. If you like travelling faster on your Piaggio Ciao moped, then you shouldn't miss out on taking a look at the various racing variator models in our range. They will inspire you.
Order complete variomats, vario weights or individual parts for the variomatic system of your Piaggio moped with just a few clicks. Also discover V-belts and pullies, high-performance tuning parts, racing cyclinders and cool accessories. It's definitely worth browsing through the other categories, as there's plenty to discover.
